Research Focus

본 연구실은 성형외과 임상영역에서 느끼는 문제점을 연구와 연계시켜 이를 극복하고자 하는 중개연구(translational research)를 수행하고 있습니다.
피부, 지방, 근육을 포함한 연부조직 및 골 재생 연구를 중심으로 생체재료와 조직공학 및 의료기기 관련 연구에 노력하고 있습니다.
특히 problematic wound healing, keloid 등에 대한 skin wound biology와 유방보형물의 면역작용, 필러, 피부재생약물, 탈모 등 모발관련 연구 등과 관련하여 세포실험 및
소, 대동물 실험을 진행하고 있습니다. 다양한 조직공학연구, 생체재료 및 의료기기의 연구개발을 통해 원천기술 확보 및 임상실용화를 최종목표로 미래로 나아가고 있습니다.

Mission of our lab is to overcome clinical challenges in plastic and reconstructive surgery through translational research with biomedical scientific knowledges.
Major research focus is in regenerative medicine, biomaterial science, and tissue engineering technologies in dermis, fats, muscles, tendons, and bones.
In specific, skin wound Biology (problematic wound healing, development of keloid tissues), abnormal immune response from silicone-based breast implants,
efficacy and therapeutic studies in dermal fillers, skin regenerating medicines, alopecia (hair loss) and hair follicle are major topics of our lab and we are
performing various in vitro (in cell studies) and in vivo (small and large animal studies) studies to find answers. We are dedicated to take proactive steps not only
to obtain proprietary technologies in biomedical science but also application of our new findings in actual clinical patients through in-depth yet diverse
researches in tissue engineering, biomaterials, and medical device development as an ultimate goal of our lab.
